Indonesia-Made Platformer ‘As I Began To Dream’ Releases This November 20

Indonesia-based Strayflux have revealed the release date for their highly anticipated, hand-illustrated puzzle platformer As I Began to Dream. The game is set to arrive on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch eShop this November 20.

As I Began to Dream is a game inspired by the five stages of grief, where players will step into the role of a girl named Lily. Venture through various dreamlike realms, explore manifestations of her life and experiences, recover the bits and pieces of Lily’s memories, find out what led her to this mysterious limbo, and guide her to finding peace and acceptance.

The game features a unique puzzle mechanic where players swap, rotate, and move blocks of the environment to solve platforming puzzles to progress through the world, and story. Combined with physics-based mechanics, and additional features like portals, enemies, and hazards, progression keeps players thinking and strategizing, while also not being overly difficult.

Players can also immerse themselves in vast, dream-like worlds that aim to emulate that same warm, hopeful feeling of diving into your favourite storybook from your childhood; accompanied by a peaceful, melancholy soundtrack created by Indonesian composer JabFina.
