Kojima Productions celebrated their tenth anniversary in style, hosting an exclusive presentation featuring studio founder Hideo Kojima and a panel of celebrity guests. Titled “Beyond the Strand”, visitors gathered at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills to hear insights from the games’ creative teams, as well as surprise announcements about the studio’s upcoming projects.
Fans watching at home could also catch up with the latest updates through a global livestream on the Kojima Productions YouTube channel. In case you missed it, here’s what you need to know:
1. OD
Hideo Kojima and Xbox lead Phil Spencer gave us our first look at OD, a new horror project from Kojima Productions’ Xbox Game Studios. Few details were shared for the game, but we do know that it will star Sophia Lillis (Honor Among Thieves), Udo Kier (Hunters), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), with renowned horror director Jordan Peele (Nope, Get Out) serving as co-writer.
2. Death Stranding Live-Action Movie

Director Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place) shared a few updates on the previously-teased live-action Death Stranding movie, which is now confirmed to be an original story set in the same universe. It seems to still be in early stages of production, as Sarnoski shared that they are still “trying to find another story that you’ve never seen”.
3. Death Stranding: Mosquito
We got more details on Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding animated film, now tentatively titled Death Stranding: Mosquito. Rather than a direct adaptation of any of the games, the film will be an original story that follows a character who can “suck something really important”. Hiroshi Miyamoto (Eiga Precure Dream Stars!) and Aaron Guzikowski (Raised by Wolves) will serve as director and writer, respectively.
4. Physint

Kojima next showed off a poster for Physint, a stealth-action game that’s been touted as a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. While the game is still in early stages of production, it will feature a heavyweight cast including Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Ma Dong-seok (Train To Busan), and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One).
5. Death Stranding AR Game
Kojima Productions will partner with Niantic Spatial, the developers of Pokémon Go, to create an AR game which Kojima describes as “Death Stranding in the real world”. No other details were released at time of writing.
6. Kojima Productions… Merch?
Ending things on a non-gaming related note, Kojima Productions will be releasing some unique merch items in the near future. The first is a credit card in collaboration with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, aiming for a late 2026 release. The card will come with an app and digital card that allows users to accumulate points with their payments, which could potentially be exchanged for Kojima Productions merchandise.
The company will also partner with Japanese brewery Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten to produce a line of sake. The Zaku Ludens Junmai Ginjo sake is described as having an aroma reminiscent of “green apples and a crisp acidity”, while the Zaku Ludens Hideo Kojima Signature Junmai Daiginjo is a high-end product made using only Mie Prefecture-grown Yamada Nishiki rice.
