During the MIX’s first-ever Indie Fan Fest Showcase, publisher Soft Source and developer OneShark showed off Gloom Punks, a dark fairytale-themed multiplayer roguelike that allows players to sacrifice their character to create a new one with upgraded stats, power, and playstyles. The game is slated for a Q2 2026 release.
In Gloom Punks, the price for power is death. You awake, trapped in a gloom-scape of fever dreams and fairytales gone feral. You can only rely on Punks like yourself to cheat death, bounce back, and take on a world that so badly wants you dead — for good!
You start in a prison of gluttonous madness and claw your way out, only to find kingdoms frozen in curses, deserts crawling with monstrosities, and landscapes that feel like fairytales gone feral. Traverse the lands solo or co-op with up to four players for more strategies – or more chaos.
Of course, even if you’re playing solo, you won’t have to go it alone. Raise pets to fight alongside you, from rats and goblins, to centaurs, wolves, and a literal walking cheese block; and outfit yourself with weapons, items, armor, and trinkets galore, from the less bizarre, to the wildly absurd.
A demo for Gloom Punks is set to be released ahead of the upcoming Steam Next Fest, happening this October 13 – 25. Interested players can now wishlist the game on Steam for the latest updates.
