Following the success of its 2024 edition at Haute École Albert Jacquard in Namur, Belgium, Philia’s PlayFest will return on November 22 and 23, 2025, this time additionally taking place at the CIIT College of Arts and Technology in Manila, the Philippines. The event will also be streamed online, connecting a large international community around video game culture and a charitable cause.
Organized by the Philia Haven association, this charity festival aims to bring together content creators, artists, developers, and video game enthusiasts from the Philippines, Belgium, and beyond, centered around the common goal of supporting orphaned children and young teenage mothers.
Manila’s PlayFest will offer an immersive experience with:
- An exclusive concert by an idol group
- Performances by CIIT Tunes and CIIT Spades, talents from CIIT College
- On-site and online esports tournaments with prize awards
- Partner booths and new Filipino video games to test
- A grand cosplay contest on Sunday, with Prince De Guzman on the jury
- Live interactions between Filipino and Belgian streamers: exchanges, interviews, and cross-raids
All proceeds from the PlayFest will be donated to Philia Haven, an active association in the Philippines and the Democratic Republic of the Congo that is currently working on meal distribution and access to medical care for orphaned children and underage mothers. The association’s long-term goal is to open a permanent clinic and to ensure their beneficiaries’ access to education and professional opportunities.
