Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G. have joined forces to develop Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, a new mobile and PC title based on Naoya Matsumoto’s hit manga series of the same name. Remarkably, the game has already reached one million pre-registrations ahead of its August 31 release date.
To celebrate the one million pre-registrations milestone, players will be able to claim a ★5 character of their choice! Players can choose from seven different characters: Rin Shinonome, Gen Narumi, Kikou Shinomiya, Kaiju No. 8, Mina Ashiro, Soshiro Hoshina, and Isao Shinomiya.
The Kaiju No. 8 manga has sold over 18 million copies across 15 published volumes in Japan, with its anime adaptation garnering attention to the series worldwide, particularly in North America. Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME aims to build on this momentum by giving players around the world a new way to experience its thrilling universe.
The game will feature an intuitive turn-based combat system, where players can select their Defense Force officers’ skills to attack Kaiju, and unleash devastating ultimate attacks to deliver the final blow. Players will also be able to relive the anime’s gripping story, as well as original narratives revealing the untold stories of their favourite characters.
