Gemdrops, Inc. have released Holo’s Hanafuda, a new adventure game featuring Hololive’s roster of VTubers, now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Stove.
The game combines hanafuda, a traditional Japanese playing card game, with an original story starring Hololive’s VTuber talents, as well as a suite of helpful features that aim to make hanafuda easy for anyone to pick up and play.
Game Features
- Beginner-Friendly: Holo’s Hanafuda simplifies play with on-screen markers and tips, making it easy for new players to enjoy an array of hanafuda-based games without having to memorize card values and rules.
- A New Twist on Hanafuda: Holo’s Hanafuda introduces a brand-new twist on classic hanafuda gameplay with the Holo Awase rule variant. Unleash powerful talent skills by matching cards that feature various Hololive members.
- Single-Player Story Mode: Join the Hololive members you know and love as they enter a world inspired by hanafuda imagery. This immersive narrative adventure is chock full of banter, battles, and Hololive references.
- Multiplayer Gameplay: In addition to a variety of single-player options, you’ll also be able to challenge players from across the globe in thrilling online matches. Pick your game, create a lobby or invite a friend, and hanafuda to your heart’s content!
- Create and Share Handmade Bento Boxes: Design custom bento boxes in an in-depth bento mode! Collect points by playing games, then use them to unlock a wide variety of ingredients and decorations that you can mix and match. After you design your ideal bento, you can also exchange your culinary creation with other players online.
The game is also set to release its first DLC pack, featuring Hololive talents Oozora Subaru and Nekomata Okayu, on August 21 (JST) / August 20 (EDT / PDT). The DLC will feature a playable Subaru and Okayu, 2 alternate outfits for each talent, and various new features such as BGM tracks, titles, bento box items and more.
