‘Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition – The Enchanted Museum’ Debuts In Kuala Lumpur Until June 11th

For the first time in Southeast Asia, the world of Cardcaptor Sakura is brought to life at the “Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition – The Enchanted Museum” hosted at INCUBASE Arena Malaysia in Fahrenheit 88, Kuala Lumpur from April 12th to June 11th.

This landmark exhibition celebrates over two decades of the beloved manga series by CLAMP, which captured hearts worldwide with its themes of love, courage, and adventure. The exhibition offers a nostalgic journey and a fresh take on Sakura’s story, making it an ideal visit for long-time fans and newcomers alike.

The exhibition begins with the story of Sakura Kinomoto, an elementary school student who discovers magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical cards into the world, setting her on a quest to retrieve all the cards to prevent catastrophe. From its serialisation in 1996 to the release of its sequel series in 2016, each milestone is warmly recounted through testimonials from fans around the world.

Each subsequent room of the exhibition focuses on familiar Clow Cards from the series. One of the first rooms is THE FLOWER card, which decorates the exhibit with varieties of flowers featured in the Cardcaptor Sakura series. Visitors can even interact with the exhibit by selecting a sticker of their favourite flower and leaving it for other visitors to discover later.

The rest of the exhibition is a thoughtfully curated love letter to the franchise, from THE SIEGE Atelier of Tomoyo where real-life recreations of Sakura’s outfits are on display, to THE MAZE of Original Drawings where fans can relive the most iconic moments between Sakura and her closest companions through CLAMP’s original manga drafts.

Each visitor is also given a brochure at the start of the experience, which you can use to collect character stamps before leaving each section.

One of the biggest highlights (pun intended) is the chance to meet and take photos with Sakura’s guardian beast Kero-chan, now in big form after being affected by THE BIG card. Exhibition staff will be on standby to help you take the cutest photos and videos with Sakura’s iconic guardian.

The exhibition ends with a stunning display of all the Clow Cards, Sakura Cards, and Clear Cards. This is also where each visitor will receive a special original Clear Card crafted by CLAMP to commemorate their visit to the exhibition.

Outside the exhibition, guests can check out exclusive merchandise available only at this event, along with a selection of goods imported directly from Japan, offering fans a unique opportunity to acquire rare Cardcaptor Sakura merchandise.

Guests can also treat themselves to Cardcaptor Sakura themed desserts at the pop-up café run by ACOLAB. From our experience, the best items on the menu were the drinks, although the presentation of the desserts was certainly adorable — featuring official character art of Sakura, Syaoran, Kero, Spinel, and Momo.
