Almost a year after launch, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions released its first major DLC expanding our cozy bedroom into an equally cozy kitchen. Mooncube Games has released content updates for Spirit City in the past, including paid cosmetic packs and free festive cosmetics, but none have been quite as ambitious as this update.
The Cozy Kitchen DLC adds a brand new section of the room for us to decorate and inhabit, including significant upgrades to the colour customisation feature. Now, players can use the colour pick tool to select specific shades, choose from a range of pre-set palettes, or even create their own custom palettes.
Although this feature is only available in the kitchen for now, Mooncube Games has confirmed that the update will also be coming soon to the bedroom and avatar customisation.

The new area also comes with a whole catalogue of kitchen-specific cosmetics, including cooking tools and aprons, as well as kitchen activities like chopping vegetables, washing dishes, and baking cookies. My favourite might just be the breakfast nook, where you can customise everything down to what you’re eating.
For those who enjoy customising their soundscape, there are three new ambient sounds: Kitchen Ambience, Tasty Bubbling and Dishwasher. You can also combine these sounds and kitchen activities to attract new kitchen-themed Spirits, such as Capybun, a loaf-life capybara and Squire Sprout, a vegetable knight-in-training.
The DLC also adds nine kitchen-specific variants of existing Spirits, including Bentobunny, a variant of Dustbunny who loves sleeping in packed lunches and Toast-mate, a retro toaster variant of APE-bit.

As a bonus to new players, the free festive cosmetics from previous months have also been carried forward to the Cozy Kitchen DLC, which means you can celebrate Lunar New Year or Halloween in your kitchen all year round. Based on previous updates, we can also expect more free festive updates from Mooncube Games to come to both the base game and kitchen DLC moving forward.
But is it worth the price tag?
The Cozy Kitchen DLC is priced at RM21.75 which is fairly close to the price of the base game at RM25. Still, Mooncube Games has managed to put together a sizeable amount of content that practically matches the base game’s offerings. Adding onto that the free cosmetics that will be released in future updates, this DLC is a must-buy for their loyal player base. As for new players, perhaps this is a good chance to finally get the base game?
