‘Undusted: Letters From The Past’ Is An ASMR Cleaning Game With A Heartwarming Story

Toge Productions, the team behind the Coffee Talk series and A Space for the Unbound, will be adding Undusted: Letters from the Past to their publishing lineup. Created by Korean studio 5minLab, the game is a cozy cleaning simulator that uncovers a heartfelt and warming family past.

Undusted: Letters from the Past puts you in the shoes of someone returning home following their mother’s passing. As you clean the objects in the house, you will experience forgotten moments you might have taken for granted. The game offers a relaxing ASMR experience, letting you clean and restore items with soothing sounds and gorgeous interactable 3D objects rendered in stylized pixelated visuals.

Game director Yoonjeong Choi aimed to create a game that could deliver the same type of “oddly satisfying” feeling found in ASMR and restoration videos. Based on this idea, she developed a short demo, which turned out quite satisfying, and this concept laid the foundation for the full game development.

Unlike most cleaning games that focus on spaces, the developer 5minlab wanted to shift the focus to individual items, especially those with deep narrative significance. In this game, each item is intricately connected to the story and characters, offering a unique way to uncover the narrative.
