JKT48, the Indonesian sister group of the Japanese girl group AKB48, has announced that the group will be opening a second round of auditions for its VTuber sub-unit JKT48 Virtual (JKT48V).
The audition is open to women residing in Indonesia who are interested in both VTubing and being an idol under JKT48, and who do not have existing contractual obligations in the entertainment industry. Having streaming or content creation experience, as well as proficiency in multiple languages, is a plus.
Auditions for JKT48V will be open via Google Forms from February 21, 10AM (WIB) to 21 March, 11.59PM (WIB). Selected participants will also be required to undergo idol training before their official debut.
The JKT48V sub-unit first made its debut in August of 2023, with its first generation of talents Kanaia Asa, Pia Meraleo, and Tana Nona. The members regularly perform on stage together with their main unit counterparts, as well as holding their own standalone performances. The group recently had their first Malaysian appearance at AniManGaki 2024.
