WEBTOON and CAPCOM have announced a webcomic contest in conjunction with the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds. The contest invites US-based creators to reimagine the world and characters of Monster Hunter, with 12 prize packs for exceptional webcomics submissions.
To participate in the Monster Hunter Wilds contest, US-based creators can submit an original webcomic to WEBTOON’s English-language platform based on one of three prompts inspired by the Monster Hunter universe. Prompts can be found on the WEBTOON Branded Contest profile under the Monster Hunter Webcomic Contest series.
Entries are due by February 19th, after which entries will be evaluated by a team of judges from WEBTOON Entertainment and CAPCOM. Finalists will be announced on February 24th, with winners revealed on February 28th.
The Monster Hunter Wilds prize breakdown includes:
- Grand Prize Winner (3 winners): Monster Hunter Wilds merchandise kit, Yian Kut Ku Plush, and digital code for new Monster Hunter Wilds video game, launching on Feb. 28
- Runner Up Winners (9 winners): Yian Kut Ku Plush and digital code for new Monster Hunter Wilds video game, launching on Feb. 28
The Monster Hunter Wilds contest is the first of its kind in WEBTOON’s new Branded Contest program, which connects WEBTOON creators and fans with exciting contests from official brand partners.
CAPCOM will also be hosting a second cross-play open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds in February, ahead of the game’s launch on 28th February 2024. The second open beta will run from February 7th, 11:00AM (GMT+8) to February 10th, 10:59AM (GMT+8), and from February 14th, 11:00AM (GMT+8) to February 17th, 10:59AM (GMT+8). It will be open to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Pre-orders and early purchases are also available now, including the Guild Knight Layered Armor Set and Hope Charm Talisman in-game pre-order bonuses. Players who pre-order through the PlayStation store will receive the exclusive Monster Hunter Wilds Digital Mini Artbook.
