Indie game developer Mister Morris Games recently dropped a new (and free!) content update for its idle-farming simulator Rusty’s Retirement. The announcement was made during the Wholesome Snack livestream, which took place on the 10th of December 2024.
Rusty’s Retirement is an idle-farming simulator that’s designed to sit at the bottom of your screen, allowing you to work on other tasks while caring for your farm. Players can grow crops, produce biofuel, and reinvest into making their farms bigger and better, even being able to expand and automate with helper robots to complete tasks more efficiently.
The new content update brings a variety of winter-themed delights to the farm, including a new map named Snowy Fields; the chance for deer to spawn on the new Snowy Fields map and the old Blossom Forest map; new Christmas decorations; and new animals that can be unlocked, such as chickens, cats, and dogs, who each have their own ways of helping out around the farm.
The update also adds a new character type known as Reapers, who travel between farms looking to sell their crop enhancement chips. Building an outpost will offer a spot for Reapers to come and park on your farm. If you don’t like any of the chips they’re selling, you can simply reroll what’s in store.
Want to try out Rusty’s Retirement, get more bang for your buck, and support a good cause? From now until December 25th, you can pick up the Wholesome Snack Humble Bundle, a collection of 6 games that were previously featured by Wholesome Games. Titles include:
- Fae Farm
- The Ranch of Rivershire

A portion of proceeds from the bundle will support World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organisation that provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. Players can contribute $5 USD (approx. RM22) for two games, or get the full bundle of six games for $22 (approx. RM90).
