Animate Pop-Up Store Opens In LaLaport BBCC From Now Until May 31

Animate, the leading anime, comics, and games merchandise store in Japan, has opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur. From now until 31 May 2025, drop by LaLaport BBCC to visit the Animate Malaysia pop-up store located at Level G-47.

The pop-up store will feature a wide range of exclusive anime products and merchandise ranging from RM15 onward from the following franchises:

The pop-up store recently opened on 29 November with a special opening ceremony featuring Lucine from KLP48 as LaLaport’s official anime ambassador. This marks the first Animate store opening in Malaysia, joining over 120+ stores opened across Japan since its establishment in 1983.

Although the shelves were sparse when we visited the store today, a representative from Animate Malaysia has shared that they will be restocking very soon — so keep your eyes peeled and visit again soon!

In conjunction with Animate Malaysia’s opening, the brand-new anime themed café Doko Koko has also opened right next door with a NIJISANJI EN collaboration. The collaboration café will be open from now until 1 January 2025.
