Written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, DAN DA DAN follows the tale of Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, while her classmate Ken Takakura believes in aliens but not ghosts. In a bet to determine who is correct, the two decide to separately visit locations associated with both the occult and the supernatural.

In the process, Ayase is abducted by a group of aliens who accidentally unblock her chakras, enabling latent psychic abilities. Meanwhile, Takakura is possessed by a spirit who takes over his body. By using Ayase’s abilities and Takakura’s possessed form, they defeat the aliens together.

DAN DA DAN first began serialisation in Shonen Jump in April 2021, and has published 15 volumes as of July 2024. Its anime series adaptation is set to premiere in October 2024 and produced by Science SARU, best known for their work on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Star Wars: Visions, and the “Food Chain” episode of Adventure Time.

Hip-hip duo Creepy Nuts will be performing the opening theme, “Otonoke”.
