New ‘Arcane’ Teaser Confirms Important Relationship In Season 2

In the most epic response to the Netflix leaks earlier this week, Arcane just dropped a brand new poster and teaser trailer for its second and final season, revealing one of the key relationships we can expect this season.

In the 1-minute long snippet, we see Jinx cornered by the Scrap Hackers, an illicit enterprise that provides Shimmer-powered body augments to anyone willing to pay the price. It also gives us our first look at Smeech, the Yordle Chem-Baron and leader of the group. The short trailer cuts off with a gun shot as Sevika emerges from the mist to save Jinx.

This is not the first time we’ve been hinted at a Sevika and Jinx team-up. Sharp eyed fans already noticed Sevika’s new prosthetic covered with Jinx’s doodles in the first teaser trailer. The second trailer’s description of “the enemy of your enemy” also hints that their goals are aligned, at least for now.

Meanwhile, the newest poster gives us an idea of the key characters in Season 2. Jinx, Vi, and Caitlyn are obvious, but the inclusion of Ambessa Medarda, Noxus warlord and mother to Mel Medarda, hints at a deeper political plot. Perhaps even a mission of vengeance, considering we still don’t know the fate of the Council of Piltover following the events of Season 1.

Series co-creator Christian Linke sheds more light on the themes of Season 2 in a video answering fan questions. When asked about Noxus, he notes how the birth of Hextech in Piltover is something that “any foreign nation at some point would find very interesting”.

Additionally, he touches on Vi’s conflict between her heart and mind this season, and how she is driven by the desire to”do the right thing” by joining the Piltover Enforcer Squad. He also shares the central question in Jinx’s character arc, which is “can you forgive a monster?”

Arcane Season 2 streams exclusively on Netflix this November 2024.
