Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has revealed that the successor to the Nintendo Switch will be announced within the company’s current fiscal year, which ends on March 31st, 2025. The news was announced on the official Nintendo Twitter account yesterday.
The announcement of the new console comes over nine years since the first announcement of the Nintendo Switch back in March 2015, giving Nintendo the perfect opportunity to announce the new console on its tenth year anniversary.
In the tweet, Furukawa also confirms that there will be a Nintendo Direct happening in June regarding new Switch games for the second half of the year. However, this announcement will not include any updates on the Nintendo Switch successor.
