Pokémon Worlds 2024 will be taking place in the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii this 16th to 18th August. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Pokémon Europe International Championships (EUIC).
The Pokémon World Championships are the pinnacle of competitive Pokémon gameplay, held annually in August. The tournament features the best Pokémon players from around the world competing in a three-day event for a prize pool of over 2 million dollars and the esteemed title of Pokémon World Champion.
In order to qualify for Worlds, players have to earn Championship Points at events throughout the Championship Series season. Pokémon TCG, VGC, and Pokémon GO players must hit a threshold of Championship Points to earn their Worlds invitation, while Pokémon UNITE teams must finish near the top of the Championship Point rankings in their rating zone in order to qualify.
This is the third time Pokémon Worlds has been held in Hawaii, with the event being hosted in Kona back in 2010 and 2012. This is the first time the event will be hosted in Honolulu.
