As a surprise Valentine’s Day gift, Marvel has officially announced the cast for “The Fantastic Four” alongside the movie’s release date on July 25, 2025.
Marvel’s first family will be played by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (or Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (or the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (or the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (or the Thing).
The announcement post also contained a few easter eggs, including fan-favourite robot companion HERBIE and the LIFE Magazine being held by The Thing.
Sharp-eyed fans have noticed that the magazine is a recreation of the actual December 1963 issue of LIFE Magazine, featuring President Lyndon B. Johnson at the White House on the cover, possibly hinting that the movie will take place in the 60s.
Considering “The Fantastic Four #1” was first published in 1961, this could be a strong indicator that an origin film is on the way — or if you’re into metaphors, perhaps Marvel is returning to the quartet’s roots with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s original interpretation. Only time will tell.
