Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, AniManGaki is one of Malaysia’s biggest anime, comics, and gaming convention — and it’s happening this 25th to 27th August at Mines Convention Centre!
For the first time ever, attendees can look forward to a 3-day convention jam packed with non-stop content, activities, performances, competitions, and many more. Here are some of the biggest attractions you can expect this weekend.
Special Guests: Hakken, Yusuke Kozaki, Comix Wave Films & More!
With this year’s space theme, AniManGaki is definitely bringing its attendees out of this world experiences. This includes special guest appearances by superstar cosplayer Hakken, character designer and illustrator Yusuke Kozaki (“NO MORE HEROES”, “Fire Emblem”, “Pokemon GO”), and even animation studio CoMix Wave Films (“The Garden of Words”, “Your Name”, “Suzume”).
What To See: Exhibitors, Cosplay, Art & Games!
Featuring over 250 artist booths, 80 exhibitor booths, and 88 of the top cosplayers from Southeast Asia, attendees will have their hands full with exploring the exhibition floor. Attendees can also try their luck at winning prizes from playing mini carnival games!
What To Watch: JKT48 Mini Live, Competitions & Panels
Done exploring the exhibition halls? Hang around the stage to enjoy AniManGaki staples like the cosplay competition and AniManGaki Idol, or check out the panels and workshops room for insightful sharing sessions with industry leaders. However, the most exciting might be idol group JKT48 who will be performing for the first time live in Malaysia!
What To Eat: F&B Vendors, Maid Cafe & Concafe
Not only will AniManGaki 2023 have a dedicated area for food and beverages, they are also introducing two new maid cafes! Anone Anone Meido Cafe is organised by Project Meido, a Cells At Work inspired maid cafe, whereas ICU Concafe is organised by MOE Events, a hospital-themed concept cafe featuring cosplayers roleplaying as doctors and nurses.
VTuber Showcase: Featuring Over 100 Malaysian VTubers
Last but not least, for the VTuber fans who want to #sapotlokal — the VTuber Spotlight curated by PSY8 will feature over 100 Malaysian VTubers, continuing AniManGaki’s record of hosting the biggest gathering of Malaysian VTubers in one place!
