From 29th June to 2nd July 2023, experience an authentic Japanese festival packed with food, fun, and cosplay for the whole family!
Organised by Trumpet, Nihon Matsuri 2023 is happening this weekend at Carpark B, Stadium Bukit Jalil with an affordable entry fee of RM20 per day for adults and RM10 per day for children, senior citizens, and OKU.
The biggest highlight of the event is definitely the food. Nihon Matsuri boasts a wide variety of Japanese cuisine ranging from staples like takoyaki and gyoza, to collaborations with restaurants such as Kanbe Ramen. There are also plenty of places to sit and enjoy the food under the starry night sky.
Happening from 3PM to 11PM each day, we were lucky enough to arrive in time for the Live Tuna Cutting Performance, one of the many unique activities happening throughout this weekend. Check out the full event schedule here and make sure you don’t miss the next exciting activity!
With cosplay being a huge aspect of Japanese pop culture, make sure to drop by the Nihon Matsuri Marquee Tent to experience what the Malaysian cosplay scene has to offer. Besides the chance to meet special guests Preston, Ying Tze, and Rikka Blurhound, we also enjoyed music performances by local singers like Rina Hime at the event.
Don’t leave the event without trying some traditional Japanese games! From goldfish scooping (also known as Kingyo Sukui) to coin toss games, immerse yourself in authentic Japanese festival games that you’ll seldom get to experience anywhere else. Even if games aren’t your thing, you can experience a little culture by leaving a wish at the wishing station.
Nihon Matsuri will be happening from 29th June to 2nd July 2023 at Carpark B, Stadium Bukit Jalil from 3PM to 11PM daily. We can’t think of a better way to spend the weekend with the family!
