After a two-year long hiatus, Call of Duty: Mobile made its triumphant return to offline events on 14th August 2022 at Hush The Theatre KL. What began as a simple gathering for fans to watch the Garena Masters III finals together, turned out to be a warm reunion between community members and a celebration of undying passion.
The Call of Duty: Mobile community, fondly referred to as the #CODMmunity, showed up in full force last Sunday. Even before the event began at 1PM, fans lined up at the door to claim their official CODM merch and catch the first match of the day. The crowd only continued to grow throughout the day as streamers, shoutcasters, and even pro players from the #CODMmunity arrived to show their support.
The event’s biggest highlights were the Mini Community Tournaments, including a 1v1 Wheel of Guns Challenge hosted by local shoutcaster FasyaBunny and a 5v5 Deathmatch. Casual players had the rare chance to face off against pro-level players during the tournaments, resulting in a ton of action and adrenaline throughout the matches. The winning teams walked away with smiles on their faces and official CODM merch.
But the fun didn’t stop there — Monkee Mods, a local blaster and blaster modding store, set up a Foam Flinging Range at the event! The #CODMmunity had a “blast” bringing their aiming skills from the battlefield in-game to the aiming range in real life. With the event running from 1PM to 11PM, snacks and drinks were also provided by Food Truck Valley to keep energy levels up and hunger levels down.
Overall, the Garena Masters III Finals Watch Party was a much-needed reminder that the #CODMmunity in Malaysia remains passionate and united; even after a two year event hiatus. THE MAGIC RAIN is happy to have played a part in this warm reunion between the community, and we can’t wait for what Call of Duty: Mobile Malaysia has in store next.
