Meet The Cast of ‘Disenchantment’, Matt Groening’s Latest Animated Series

After its first trailer was premiered during San Diego Comic Con a few weeks ago, more news about Netflix’s next animated comedy series has been released, much to fans’ delight.

The new teasers for ‘Disenchantment’ feature a closer look at the show’s main characters, Bean (voiced by Abbi Jacobson), Luci (voiced by Eric André), and Elfo (voiced by Nat Faxon), as well as the Kingdom of Dreamland which serves as the main setting for most of the series.

Dreamland is set in a fantasy medieval universe where mythical beings like fairies, goblins, wizards, and elves exist. Much like Groening’s previous shows, ‘Futurama’ and ‘The Simpsons’, we were expecting a whole ensemble of crazy, wacky characters. In the teaser, we get our first glimpses at it.

The cast is anchored by Bean, your not-so-typical princess who has a strong taste for liquor and isn’t afraid to get rowdy once in awhile. After her arranged marriage to a prince falls apart, she decides to embark on a journey to discover her true self. Abbi Jacobson’s voice is a perfect match for this headstrong princess, and we’re excited to see how she’ll serve at the show’s helm.

Luci is very much the voice of nihilism in the group. He was first mistaken as a small cat, but soon introduces himself as a demon who wants to bring nothing but suffering to humanity. For reasons not stated in the teaser, this dark incarnation seems to have no trouble spending his time hanging around Bean and Elfo.

Elfo is the dumb, slapstick component of the group. He abandoned his life in the forest creating candy, choosing instead a life of adventure… even though the life of adventure certainly hasn’t chosen him.

The series hits Netflix on 17 August 2018, featuring a few more familiar cast members from ‘Futurama’ and ‘The Simpsons’, including John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.
