It’s Time To Mark Your Movie Calendars…

We’ve looked at the movie schedule for the year, and oh boy, is it a doozy.

The line-up for 2018 packs some serious punch, including movies that have been teased for YEARS by giants like Warner Bros. Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Walt Disney Studios (who – if you need to jog your memory – also owns Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and most recently, 20th Century Fox!!)

It doesn’t even matter whether you’re a fan of science fiction, superhero flicks, fantasy, or just animation – it’s time to pull out your calendars and set aside some cash. After you’ve seen this list, trust me, you’re going to need it.


February 15, 2018 – Black Panther

Distributed by: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Starring: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o

Synopsis: T’Challa returns home to Wakanda but finds his position as king challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences. It is also the first ever film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature a person of colour as its titular character.


March 8, 2018 – A Wrinkle In Time

Distributed by: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Starring: Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling

Synopsis: After the disappearance of her scientist father, Meg Murray, her little brother Charles Wallace, and her classmate Calvin O’Keefe, are guided by three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which to find him and bring him home. The movie is based on a science fantasy novel of the same title written by Madeleine L’Engle in 1962.


March 15, 2018 – Tomb Raider

Distributed by: Warner Bros. Pictures

Starring: Alicia Vikander, Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu, Dominic West

Synopsis: Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished years earlier. Hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance, Croft embarks on a perilous journey to his last-known destination — a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan.


March 22, 2018 – Pacific Rim: Uprising

Distributed by: United International Pictures

Starring: John Boyega, Jing Tian, Scott Eastwood,

Synopsis: Rebellious pilot Jake Pentecost and his estranged sister must lead a brave new generation of fighters against otherworldly monsters that want to destroy humanity. This movie is the sequel to Pacific Rim (2013).


March 29, 2018 – Ready Player One

Distributed by: Warner Bros. Pictures

Starring: Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn

Synopsis: When the creator of an MMO called the Oasis dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all Oasis users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Wade Watts finds the first clue and starts a race for the Egg. Based on the best selling novel of the same title by Ernest Cline.


April 12, 2018 – X-Men: The New Mutants

Distributed by: 20th Century Fox

Starring: Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga

Synopsis: Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.


April 26, 2018 – Avengers: Infinity War

Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman

Synopsis: On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will onto reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet.


May 7, 2018 – Slender Man

Starring: Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Annalise Basso

Synopsis: Terror strikes when unsuspecting victims cross paths with a tall, thin, horrifying figure known as the Slender Man.


May 25, 2018 – Solo: A Star Wars Story

Distributed by: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Starring: Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover

Synopsis: Set prior to the events of Episode 4: A New Hope, the film explores the adventures of a young Han Solo and Chewbacca, including their meeting of Lando Calrissian.


May 31, 2018 – Deadpool 2

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin

Synopsis: Ryan Reynolds returns again to play the lovable mercenary with a mouth in the sequel to the 2016 film, Deadpool.


June 14, 2018 – The Incredibles 2

Starring: Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Vowel

Synopsis: Elastigirl springs into action to save the day, while Mr. Incredible faces his greatest challenge yet — taking care of the problems of his three children.


July 5, 2018 – Ant-Man and The Wasp

Synopsis: Ant-Man joins forces with the Wasp on an urgent new mission to uncover secrets from the past. This movie acts as the sequel to Ant-Man (2015).


July 12, 2018 – Hotel Transylvania 3: A Monster Vacation

Starring: Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi

Synopsis: The Drac pack embarks on a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship so Drac can take a summer vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monster kind.


July 19, 2018 – Alita: Battle Angel

November 15, 2018 – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

November 22, 2018 – Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

December 13, 2018 – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Synopsis: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.


December 20, 2018 – Aquaman

Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman

Synopsis: Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and to be a hero to the world.
