The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All has released its first official trailer ahead of its January 8 premiere date. The new trailer features background music from Kosuke Noma and Takayuki “Kojiro” Sasaki, who will also score the series.
The trailer also revealed a number of side characters voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda, Tasuku Hatanaka, Yurina Amami, Fairouz Ai and Maiko Nomura. They join previously announced voice actors Mariya Ise and Akari Kito, who voice the protagonists Mitsuki Koga and Aya Osawa respectively.
The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All follows Aya, a high school student who falls in love with a mysterious employee at her local CD shop – though unbeknownst to her, “he” is actually her female classmate, Mitsuki. As the two grow closer at school, Mitsuki begins to contemplate revealing her identity to Aya.
The anime adaptation will be produced by CloverWorks, with Masashi Ishihama (From the New World, Garakowa -Restore the World-, Horimiya) serving as director. Nirvana’s ‘Breed’ will be featured as the anime’s opening song.
