Overwatch Rush, Blizzard’s top-down mobile shooter, is now available for players in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines! The game recieved a soft launch on 31st August, and can now be downloaded for free on most major app stores.
The Overwatch Rush Soft Launch features a new hero, more maps, a complete revamp of the progression system, and more. Initially announced by Blizzard back in February 2026, the game serves as Overwatch’s entry into the mobile gaming scene, and is designed specifically for mobile gamers.

Playable Characters
In Overwatch Rush, the playable characters will retain most of the core gameplay mechanics of their PC / console counterparts, but with some changes here and there.
Currently, the roster of playable characters consists of Tracer, Reinhardt, Kiriko, Soldier: 76, Lucio, Pharah, Mercy, and Reaper. The soft launch also introduces Brigitte as the new Vanguard hero.

Gamemodes & Maps
Overwatch Rush was initially shown to be only a 4v4 PVP. However, with the soft launch, it now also has duo free-for-all and 3v3 control modes. The duo free-for-all gamemode allows for three teams of 2 duking it out in the same match, while 3v3 control is essentially the same as in the PC / console versions, but scaled down to only 3 players a side.
The soft launch also features maps that might sound familiar if you’ve brushing up on Overwatch lore. The maps are Narwhal Cove in Gibraltar, Hydronet Gardens in Cairo, and Mansión Portero in Dorado
Hero Progression
Similar to the PC / console version of Overwatch, Overwatch Rush also features a progression system for playing the same character repeatedly. As players level up their characters, they can also test out different builds and loadouts to give them the edge in their matches.
However, in Overwatch Rush, this is done via progression currency earned through gameplay. The currency is then used to spend on individual heroes. Aside that, the soft launch also has a tons of cosmetics for you to try on!

Overwatch Rush is off to a decent start and honestly looks pretty fun! The game is available for Android / iOS in Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. Best part is, it’s free to play!
With that said, I have been called and I must answer! See y’all on the battlefield!
