GameChanger Studio has announced a major visual update for its popular simulation game NSFW ~ Not a Simulator For Working, ahead of the title’s 10th anniversary. The new Highly Distracted update transforms the game’s original pixel-art presentation with a new HD visual style, featuring more than 600 assets redrawn from scratch.
Originally released on Steam Greenlight on October 28, 2016, NSFW ~ Not a Simulator For Working went on to gain an international following, including attention from prominent YouTubers such as Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and MattShea. Markiplier’s gameplay video has since surpassed 11 million views.
In NSFW ~ Not a Simulator For Working: Highly Distracted, players once again take on the role of Stefan Liem, a 22-year-old graphic designer starting his first job at a major design agency. Rather than focusing on his work, however, players must help Stefan survive seven days at the office while finding increasingly creative ways to stay distracted.
The catch is simple: don’t get caught. Coworkers can report Stefan for slacking off, and getting caught can result in being fired.
The update retains the game’s original gameplay while introducing the revamped visuals. Players can experience the seven-day campaign in Story Mode or take on an endless challenge in Endless Simulator Mode. A range of mini-games, unlockable content, new software, gimmicks, story paths, and other surprises are also included.
With the overhaul, the game’s storefront will be renamed NSFW ~ Not a Simulator For Working: Highly Distracted and its price will be adjusted to US$4.69 / Rp49,069. Existing owners will receive the update at no additional cost.
Players who prefer the original pixel-art presentation will also be able to access the classic version through the game’s legacy beta branch on Steam, allowing both versions to remain available.
