Get ready to unleash your Hadoken! Legendary Entertainment is bringing the iconic Street Fighter video game franchise to the big screen with a new live-action film, set to open on October 16, 2026. The studio recently revealed the full cast, exciting new plot details, and a major new distribution partnership.
According to a description from entertainment news source Deadline, the story will follow estranged friends Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo, respectively. They are recruited back into combat by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) for the next World Warrior Tournament. However, this tournament is more than it seems, hiding a deadly conspiracy that forces the heroes to face off against each other and their personal demons.
The star-studded cast features a mix of familiar faces and some exciting newcomers. Joining Koji, Centineo, and Liang are Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, and Hirooki Goto as E. Honda.
Several new cast members have also been announced, including Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, and Olivier Richters as Zangief.

The film is currently in production in Australia under the direction of Kitao Sakurai, known for his work on The Eric Andre Show and Bad Trip. This new film marks a new chapter for the franchise’s cinematic history, which previously saw a 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and a 2009 spinoff.
It will be the first title to be distributed under a new multi-year deal between Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment. This partnership will see Paramount handle the worldwide distribution of Legendary’s films, with the exception of China, where Legendary East will manage the release.
