Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback To Premiere In Malaysia On Sept 18

Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback, the 28th film in the Detective Conan franchise, will be premiering in Malaysia on September 18, 2025. The film opened at #1 in the Japanese box office on April 18 and earned US$24.15 million, marking a new opening-weekend record for the franchise.

The film takes place in the snow-laden peaks of Mitaodake, where Inspector Kansuke Yamato of the Nagano Prefectural Police pursues a elusive suspect. After narrowly avoiding death with an injury to his left eye, he joins Yui Uehara to investigate an assault on a researcher at the Nobeyama National Observatory.

As they question witnesses, the observatory’s massive parabolic antenna whirs to life, triggering an inexplicable, searing pain in Kansuke’s now one-eyed gaze, hinting at a buried connection to his past. That same night, Kogoro Mouri receives a call at his detective agency from “Wani,” a former colleague from his Metropolitan Police days. He arranges a meeting with Conan in tow, only for gunfire to shatter the silence en route to their rendezvous.

Katsuya Shigehara, unit director of Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, directed the film while Takeharu Sakurai, writer for various Detective Conan movies, penned the script. King Gnu provided the film’s theme song, Twilight!!!
