HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact will receive its next major update on September 10. Titled Version Luna I, “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue,” the update will kick off a year-long content cycle known as the Song of the Welkin Moon series.
New Region
The update introduces Nod-Krai, a northern region in the game world of Teyvat, consisting of three island territories. Players will encounter new factions, explore mysteries surrounding the moon, and take part in the next chapter of the game’s Archon Quests. .
Nod-Krai also debuts a new elemental force called Kuuvahki, which influences the environment, local lifeforms, and combat mechanics. Players will be able to interact with this energy during exploration and battles, including transforming into a lifeform known as Kuuhenki to navigate the landscape.
New Characters
Three new characters from Nod-Krai will join the roster in Version Luna I:



- Lauma, a five-star Dendro Catalyst user, who introduces a new combat reaction and possesses a shapeshifting ability.
- Flins, a five-star Electro Polearm user, linked to the “Wild Hunt” faction.
- Aino, a four-star Hydro Claymore user, who employs mechanical inventions in combat. Aino will be obtainable for free by progressing through the new quests.
Gameplay Updates
The update will also introduce a new system known as Meeting Points, which provides character-focused story experiences, and new optimizations such as expanded party slots, Artifact previewing, and additional leveling rewards. A new item, Masterless Stella Fortuna, will allow players to raise five-star characters up to level 100 for the first time.
To celebrate the update and the game’s fifth anniversary, players will receive login rewards including a free five-star character, Intertwined Fates, Primogems, and special in-game items.
Looking ahead, HoYoverse also outlined plans for Miliastra Wonderland, a user-generated content system that will allow players to design and share custom stages, which is scheduled to arrive with Version Luna II.
Genshin Impact Version Luna I launches September 10 on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS.
