During the recent Nintendo Direct, Square Enix revealed a new action RPG titled The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, set to launch in 2026. A free “Debut Demo” is now available for download exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, giving players an early look at the game’s expansive world and real-time combat system.
Developed by Team Asano, The Adventures of Elliot takes place in the land of Philabieldia, where a young adventurer named Elliot and his fairy companion Faie journey beyond the walls of the Kingdom of Huther. Their mission leads them through ancient ruins, hostile territories, and mysterious timelines.
Elliot can wield seven weapon types, ranging from close-quarters swords to versatile chains and sickles that can reel in enemies. Each weapon is customizable through magicite, allowing players to tailor their combat style. Meanwhile, Faie will use powerful Fairy Actions to strike enemies, retrieve hard-to-reach items, or aid in exploration.
The game’s full release is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with more details to be announced at a later date. Fans are encouraged to try out the demo and provide feedback via an online survey, though it is important to note save data from the demo will not transfer to the full game.
