The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app will be releasing a new expansion, Wisdom of Sea and Sky, starting this 30 July, 2025. The expansion will also feature updates to the app’s trade feature.
New Wisdom of Sea and Sky Expansion
In Wisdom of Sea and Sky, players can encounter various Pokémon from Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, including Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile, as well as the Legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-Oh.
The expansion will also introduce Pokémon with attacks that don’t require Energy, allowing Trainers to test new strategies for deck building and battling.
Updates to Trade Feature
Players can also look forward to the following updates to the trade feature, beginning 30 July, 2025, at 06:00 UTC:
- Wishlist: Players can now indicate which cards they’d like to trade for when trading with other players. Each player can add up to 20 cards to your wishlist from the My Cards screen, and can also select three wishlisted cards to display on their profile.
- Revisions to Trade Feature: Trade tokens will be discontinued, and players will no longer need to consume cards in order to trade. Instead, shinedust will be required to trade ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarity cards.
When players obtain a card already registered in their card dex, the amount of shinedust that is automatically granted will be increased to double the current amount. Trade tokens can be exchanged for pack hourglasses and shinedust at the Shop.
