Oshi no Ko Manga To End In Four Chapters On November 14

Days after the announcement of its third anime season, the official Oshi no Ko X (formerly Twitter) account has announced that the manga will come to an end in four chapters. The 166th and final chapter will be published on November 14, 2024 in the 50th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump.

Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish)’s Oshi no Ko was first serialised in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It follows the story of a gynecologist and idol fan Gorou who goes into shock after his favourite idol, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realise that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense.

The manga entered its final arc titled “Hoshi ni Yume ni” (or “Toward the Stars and Dreams”) on June 27th, 2024. It currently has over 18 million copies in circulation, and was nominated for the 28th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and the 48th annual Kodansha Manga Awards this year.

The series was later adapted into a television anime produced by Doga Kobo in April 2023. It currently has two seasons with a newly announced third season on the way. There is also a real-life stage play being produced based on the 2.5D Stage Play arc in the series.
