HoneyWorks is a Japanese VOCALOID orchestra project that’s best known for producing popular songs with the Japanese singer CHiCO, such as Pride Kakumei from Gintama and Kessen Spirit from Haikyuu!!. The group is comprised of two main composers, Gom and shito, a main illustrator, Yamako, and a number of support members.
Following the release of the anime series Zutto Mae kara Suki deshita.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai back in 2017, HoneyWorks is back with another series inspired by their existing manga and songs!
The series is called Heroine Tarumono! ~Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto~ or To Become a Real Heroine ~The Unpopular Girl and the Secret Task. If you’re a HoneyWorks fan, then chances are you’ve guessed that this series is related to songs like Heroine Tarumono and Heroine Ikusei Keikaku.
Like in the songs, the plot of the anime series will revolve around a main female lead named Hiyori Suzumi, a student from the countryside who moved to Tokyo to attend high school in the hopes of pursuing her interest in track and field. She decides to take up a part-time job to pay for her own living expenses, and by chance, she ends up becoming the apprentice manager of the famous idol group LIP × LIP!
While it might seem like a dream job at first glance, Hiyori soon learns that she has to deal with conflicts, arguments, and more as the two members of LIP × LIP, Yujirou Someya and Aizo Shibasaki, do not always get along with each other. To make things even more chaotic, it turns out that they both also attend the same school and class as her!
Luckily, Hiyori also makes two new friends, Juri Hattori and Chizuru Nakamura, who support her throughout her high school journey. And so, her chaotic Tokyo life begins, as she juggles between her inexperience in the idol industry, her school life, and handling the two idols outside of work!
Heroine Tarumono! ~Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto~ is scheduled to release in April 2022. Other than the official PV, fans can expect more exciting new visuals and trailer as we get closer to the date of release!
