Someone on the Gundam team has some impeccable taste in music. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe has officially confirmed that Guns N’ Roses’ classic rock anthem Sweet Child O’ Mine will feature as the film’s ending theme. According to a press statement, the song was chosen for its tenderness and bittersweet emotion, which resonates with the story of the film.
Other songs set to feature in The Sorcery of Nymph Circe include Snooze by New Jersey-born superstar SZA, which will serve as the film’s opening theme; as well as an insert song titled ENDROLL, performed by Yohei Kawakami of Alexandros in collaboration with SennaRin.
The Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway films are based on a series of novels from Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, following the rebel leader Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa from the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime. His fate becomes intertwined with a mysterious young woman named Gigi Andalucia, and Captain Kenneth Sleg, an officer from the Earth Federation Forces.
The first Hathaway film was released in June of 2021, where it grossed 2.23 billion yet at the Japanese box office. The upcoming The Sorcery of Nymph Circe will be released in Japanese cinemas on January 30, 2026, with international screening dates to follow.
