Earlier this morning, the February State of Play broadcast brought over 60 minutes of news, gameplay updates, and announcements from third-party and indie games headed to the PlayStation 5. In case you missed the broadcast, here’s a quick recap of every major announcement you need to know:
Kena: Bridge of Spirits gets sequel; Kena: Scars of Kosmora arrives 2026
Five years after the launch of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Kena: Scars of Kosmora expands the action, adventure, and combat of its award-winning predecessor. Kena, now an accomplished Spirit Guide, travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora seeking a cure for her affliction and to reconnect with a friend from her past. There, she must accept Kosmora’s forgotten and dangerous form of Spirit Guiding that manipulates the elements.
Online co-op multiplayer mode Ghost of Yotei Legends launches free on March 11th
Ghost of Yotei Legends is an online cooperative multiplayer mode, up to four players, where players can team up with friends to challenge monstrous, supernatural enemies across multiple gameplay modes. The new game mode drops on March 11th together with Patch 1.5, free for all players who own Ghost of Yotei on PlayStation.
Resident Evil Requiem drops new trailer teasing Leon Kennedy’s story
We’re one week away from Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth instalment in the highly popular survival horror franchise. To keep fans hyped, CAPCOM has released a 2-minute trailer focusing on Leon Kennedy’s story in the game. From returning to an iconic location in the Resident Evil franchise, to Leon’s hidden struggles with the zombie virus, it looks like fans are in for a treat this February 27th.
Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round launches June 25th, 2026
In conjunction with the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Koei Tecmo will be releasing Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round, a new version of the original 2019 release that includes upgrades for the PlayStation 5, new costumes, and previously released DLC characters. New characters and costumes will be added in future updates. At launch, a free-to-play version will also be available.
Not only that, fans of the fighting action game franchise can look forward to a new instalment which is currently in development.
GAME FREAK’s Beast of Reincarnation launches August 4th, 2026
Well, this doesn’t look like Pokémon. Game Freak has dropped a brand-new trailer for its action role-playing game Beast of Reincarnation. Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, humanity’s only hope lies with Emma, an outcast shunned from society for her affliction, and Koo, the blighted dog. Together, they embark on a one-person, one-dog adventure this August 4th, 2026.
Award-winning Neva to release Prologue DLC this February 29th, 2026
Set years before the events of the award-winning action adventure game Neva, Neva: Prologue tells the story of how Alba and Neva first met. Designed to be experienced after completing the main game, Neva: Prologue offers a deeper challenge and rich narrative for returning players. The expansion introduces three new locations, each featuring unique gameplay mechanics, alongside new challenges, enemies, and intense boss encounters.
KRAFTON Montreal Studio reveals first look at Project Windless
Set in the universe of the acclaimed Korean fantasy novel series The Bird That Drinks Tears, Project Windless is a single-player open-world action RPG currently in development by KRATON Montreal Studio. Step into a mythic age as a mighty Rekon warrior and journey across a breathtaking, war-torn world. Stand against overwhelming odds, forge alliances, and wage war across massive battlefields to unite a fractured land and give birth to a new kingdom.
Konami announces Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, coming 2026
In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise, Konami revealed a new 2D action-exploration game coming 2026. Set 23 years after Castlevania Dracula’s Curse, the game follows a young Belmont’s journey as she ventures into the burning streets adn the looming castle to hunt down monstrous creatures that are threatening to engulf Paris in devastation.
Konami and Annapurna Interactive reveal Silent Hill: Townfall, coming 2026
Developed by Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Konami Digital Entertainment and Annapurna Interactive, Silent Hill: Townfall is the newest psychological horror game to join the Silent Hill series. Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to ‘put things right’, encountering a town lying quiet beneath a heavy fog, seemingly abandoned but not at rest. Venturing deeper, and driven to understand his connection to the place and its inhabitants, Simon begins to discover fragments of a past rising to the surface.
Konami teases new RPG Rev. NOiR, currently in development
The last of the back-to-back Konami announcements is the teaser for Rev. NOiR, a new role-playing game set in a world shrouded in lightfall, a natural phenomenon that brings death to those it touches. There, a lonely boy who suffers from amnesia becomes acquainted with a special girl. Together, they set out on a journey to stop this phenomenon. Believing that the journey will save the world, and in turn, save her.
Saber and Lionsgate reveal Untitled John Wick Game, currently in development
Created in collaboration between Saber, Lionsgate, and franchise director Chad Stahelski, the new Untitled John Wick Game will feature an original script set in the John Wick timeline, expanding on the franchise’s intricate lore with familiar characters fans already know, as well as completely new ones. And of course, John Wick will be modelled after Keanu Reeves himself.
Bungie’s Marathon launches March 5th; Server Slam weekend starts February 26th
From the creators of Halo and Destiny, the highly anticipated survival extraction first-person shooter Marathon will be launching on February 26th, 2026. Players can jump into Server Slam weekend from February 26th to March 2nd as the game opens preview worldwide on all platforms with cross-play and cross-save.
God of War gets original trilogy remake, currently in development
Right before the end of God of War’s 20th anniversary, Santa Monica Studios has revealed that they are remaking the original God of War trilogy. The news was announced by the original voice of Kratos himself, TC Carson. The studio also confirmed that the project is very early in development, and the next time they come back with an update, they aim to make it a big one.
Brand new action platformer God of War: Sons of Sparta is out now
In the meantime, fans can whet their appetite on a passion project from Santa Monica Studio and Mega Cat Studios. God of War: Sons of Sparta is a 2D action platformer with a canon story set in Kratos’ youth during his brutal training at the Spartan Agoge alongside his brother Deimos. Kratos must overcome threats that will put all their training to the test while confronting the true meaning of duty and honor.
