It’s official: Goku is the most popular character in Dragon Ball. Everyone’s favourite Saiyan managed to sweep the Dragon Ball series’ first-ever global character popularity poll, titled “Dragon Ball The One”, which recently concluded on January 24.
Goku is followed by Vegeta in second place, Son Gohan in third, Piccolo in fourth, and Vegito in fifth, with Future Trunks, Bardock, Cell, Android 18 and Frieza taking up the sixth to tenth slots. Notably, Goku consistently remained at the top spot from the first until the very last stage of voting.

Dragon Ball The One featured 212 characters from the original Dragon Ball manga, and was conducted in a survival format across four stages. At the end of every stage, fans could also vote for one eliminated character to return and advance to the next round.
The poll was organized in conjunction with Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary, and concluded ahead of Dragon Ball Genki Damatsuri, a fan event happening in Japan on January 25.
