Riot Games China have released cast photos for their musical adaptation of Arcane, which re-imagines the critically acclaimed animated series as a live, interactive performance. Known simply as “Immersive Arcane”, the project will make its debut in China this January 22.
Immersive Arcane is set to take place at the historic Shanghai Hotel in Jing’an District, featuring a 120-minute show that includes 20 songs from the Arcane soundtrack. The production is a collaboration between Riot Games, Tencent, SMG Live, Wajijiwa, and the London-based theatre company Punchdrunk.

Punchdrunk in particular are known for organising interactive theatre shows, with previous titles including Lander 23, Sleep No More, and The Burnt City. Instead of being confined to one traditional stage, Punchdrunk productions take place over a series of rooms, with visitors being invited to literally step into the story as they go through the building.
Immersive Arcane recently concluded an exclusive preview screening on January 5, and will officially open its doors this January 22, followed by five more shows on January 24, 27, 29, 31, and February 1.
