Motoi Okamoto, producer of the Silent Hill game series, has revealed Konami’s plans to release new titles to the franchise annually, including unannounced projects. The news came from a recent interview with Famitsu that happened last Saturday.
The reason for the change in the release schedule is partially attributed to the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill ‘f’, among other factors. The latter game sold over 1 million units worldwide on September 26, just a day after the game’s release on September 25.

The first Silent Hill premiered in 1999, followed by the original Silent Hill 2, which premiered in 2001 . The latest entry to the franchise, Silent Hill ‘f’, is a standalone spinoff of the franchise featuring a Japanese-horror theme, in contrast to the franchise’s long use of Western themes. The game was released on September 25 and was made available for PC, PlayStation 5, and XBox Series X|S.
A Silent Hill 2 remake was released in 2024, with the aid of Polish game developers Bloober Team. The game was also a success, achieving over 2.5 million copies sold as of October 2025. Konami has also announced that it will be working again with Bloober Team to produce a remake of Silent Hill 1.
