Kyoto Animation revealed today that the studio will be adapting the RuriDragon manga series into a TV anime. Though details such as the series’ production staff and voice cast were not shared, Kyoto Animation teased in the announcement that its release date is “still a long way off.”
RuriDragon follows a high school girl named Ruri, who wakes up one day to discover that she has grown horns. She discovers that she is half-dragon, having inherited draconic traits from her dragon father, and will have to navigate school life alongside her newly discovered powers.
The manga series is written and illustrated by Masaoki Shindo, who began publishing the series in Weekly Shonen Jump in June 2022, before the series moved to the magazine’s digital version and the Shonen Jump+ app in 2024.
