‘Needy Streamer Overload’ Gets Anime Adaptation, Releasing April 2026

The viral 2022 visual novel Needy Streamer Overload is officially getting an anime adaptation, set to be released in April of 2026. The anime will be produced by Yostar Pictures (Arknights, Blue Archive), directed by Masaoki Nakajima (New Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt) with supervision from original series creator Nyalra.

It was also announced that theatrical screenings of selected episodes will air in Shinjuku and Umeda ahead of the TV broadcast in April 2026, though it is currently unclear if these screenings will make their way overseas.

Needy Streamer Overload follows a young girl named Ame, who livestreams under the persona of “K-Angel”. You play as P-chan, her manager, who helps to monitor her streams, as well as organise her daily activities. Ame has three main stats you need to manage: stress, affection, and mental darkness. Should one of these stats exceed healthy levels, Ame will begin to react negatively.

The game was released on Steam in January 2022, where it has since amassed over 3 million downloads, while songs featured in the game have been viewed over 400 million times. It is highly acclaimed for its realistic depiction of Internet culture and livestreaming, as well as its discussions on mental health.
