Valve and Capcom have announced an unexpected crossover that brings Monster Hunter into the world of Dota 2. The team-up adds new sets, new pets, an in-game hunt, and even a new crafting system to Valve’s world-famous MOBA.
Players can collect up to six Monster Hunter-themed item sets, each with three craftable alternate versions. You can also craft outfits for your new Palico courier and pet Poogie, the latter of which acts as a pet in your base. The core version of each hero set is free, and can be crafted once you’ve harvested the required materials from hero hunts.
Those looking for a more premium experience can pick up the Expedition Pack, which allows you to craft exclusive Poogie, Palico, and hero set variants. It also includes other cosmetics such as more crafting materials, a Monster Hunter music pack, seasonal spray collection, and even monsters for selected heroes (namely Rathalos for Dragon Knight and the Bullfango for Beastmaster).
The Dota 2 and Monster Hunter crossover is now live, and will run for the next three months. For more information, visit the official Dota 2 website.
