Netflix unveiled new details on some of their upcoming anime series during their 10th anniversary celebration in Japan, including the new Baki-Dou series, streaming exclusively on the platform in 2026; as well as a first look at Beastars Final Season Part 2, also set to premiere next year.
The announcements were made during a special talk show featuring between Keisuke Itagaki, creator of the Baki manga series, and Paru Itagaki, creator of Beastars.
Baki-Dou
Baki-Dou is the newest iteration of the Baki anime series, following the original Baki, which ran from 2018 to 2020, and Baki Hanma, running from 2021 to 2023. Nobunaga Shimazaki will reprise his role as protagonist Baki Hanma when the series airs in 2026.
Following his legendary father-son battle against Yujiro Hanma, Baki faces a new threat: the resurrection of Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. As warriors like Doppo Orochi, Jack Hanma, and Kaoru Hanayama return to the fight, the stage is set for an unprecedented clash—the strongest underground fighter vs. the legendary samurai, in a cross-era showdown.
BEASTARS Final Season Part 2
Netflix showed off some new stills from the upcoming season, featuring key characters Legoshi, Melon, Haru, Louis, Juno, and Pina. True to its name, the final season will serve as the conclusion to this dark, thrilling coming-of-age story set in a world of talking animals.

Director Shinichi Matsumi also shared his thoughts on the finale: “As fangs and horns clash, friendship, love, and pride – everything will be put to the test in this intense climax. What does it mean to live beyond the boundaries of species? Is love a source of strength, or of weakness? The finale of this work is not only their story, but also a question posed to the world we live in. Please watch until the very end.”
More updates will be made via Netflix’s official social media.
