LEVEL UP KL 2025 Raises The Bar For Southeast Asian Gaming This 6-8 October

With over RM130 million in business opportunities generated last year, Southeast Asia’s gaming industry is set to raise the bar with another milestone at Level Up KL 2025.

Hosted by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), an agency under the Ministry of Digital, Level Up KL 2025, Malaysia’s premier game developer conference will take place from 6 to 8 October at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre in Bangsar South. This three-day event will unite developers, studios, publishers, investors, tech providers, and creators from across the region and beyond for its biggest gaming showcase yet.

LEVEL UP KL is a hub where the region’s game development scene levels up through pitch-ready projects, global launches, studio scouting, and high-value deals unfolding in real time. Last year’s event drew over 2,500 attendees and 80 exhibitors, including industry giants like Double Eleven, Larian Studios, Electronic Arts, and PlayStation Studios. Building on this success, this year’s conference promises power-packed keynotes, thought-provoking panels, hands-on masterclasses, and live demos.

This year, the focus goes beyond showcasing Southeast Asia’s creative and commercial strength. It’s about transforming momentum into tangible outcomes through curated networking, project pitching, and global visibility.

The opening day will feature intensive Masterclass Workshops led by global industry experts, and Pitch Day, where selected game developers will present their titles and prototypes to international publishers and investors. Game developers can expect international publishers like Nintendo, Kowloon Nights, Neon Doctrine and many more. These sessions are designed to go beyond exposure, they’re built to secure real deals, funding, and lasting partnerships.

“LEVEL UP KL shows how Malaysia is taking a lead in Southeast Asia’s gaming space. It is more than just a gathering; it’s a catalyst,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC. “As the nation’s digital economy enabler, MDEC is committed to empowering homegrown talent, driving innovation, and expanding global opportunities, while positioning Malaysia as a leading hub for game development in the region.”

Over three packed days, LEVEL UP 2025 will feature its signature programmes, including keynote sessions and panels with industry leaders, curated business meetings, and Pitch Day, where top regional games are presented to global decision-makers. Highlights also include the SEA Game Awards, the LEVEL UP KL Steam Event showcasing indie games, and the fast-paced SEA Game Jam, where developers race to build original games in just 48 hours.
