‘Sky: Children Of The Light’ To Begin Screening ‘The Two Embers’ On July 21

Thatgamecompany is set to launch the latest season of Sky: Children of The Light on July 21. Titled Season of The Two Embers – Part 1, the update will feature a deeply emotional story about an orphan in a world fading to darkness, told through an animated film that players can watch together in Sky’s in-game cinema, followed by Seasonal Quests that allow them to relive key story moments.

“For the first time, we’re bringing an animated film directly into the world of the game – where players can watch it unfold, then step into that same world to explore and feel it for themselves,” said Jenova Chen, Creative Director and CEO of thatgamecompany. “It’s a new kind of storytelling, built around shared experience, discovery, and connection. This has never been done quite like this before, and we’re excited to invite players to live the story together.”

Players can also explore one of Sky’s most expansive new areas — a vibrant market village filled with bustling NPCs, hidden corners, and storytelling moments. Plus, players will also be joined by a new manatee companion, a loyal and expressive creature that responds to player actions and remains by their side throughout the journey.

New seasonal cosmetics will also reflect the setting’s unique energy, featuring playful items like manatee-themed hats and earrings.
