Yes, you read that title right. Ryu Nakayama, the director of season 1 of the Chainsaw Man anime, is working on an upcoming Roblox horror game titled ‘The Inn’.
‘The Inn’ is being developed by Nakayama and Studio Mayflower, a tech-based anime production studio, who previously worked on key animation for the 2024 anime series Oblivion Battery. Nakayama came on board as Studio Mayflower’s Chief Creative Officer in August of 2024.

Little is known about the game thus far, aside from the fact that it will be a Japanese-inspired horror roguelite. It has also yet to receive an official release date, though Nakayama teased in an X post that the game is set to be released “soon”.
Though commonly thought of as a simple children’s game, Roblox is currently one of the most popular game development platforms in the world. The platform’s biggest games include Brookhaven, a life simulation game that has over 1 million active players, and Dress to Impress, a mega-viral dressup game that usually records over 250,000 concurrent players.
