CinemaCon is one of the biggest movie conferences in the world, with this year’s event set to feature appearances from Paramount, Warner Bros., Disney and more over the event’s four-day span. Though the event is primarily aimed at industry professionals, it also gives general audiences a glimpse of what’s to come from their favourite movie studios.
Sony Pictures kicked off the first day of CinemaCon with a two-hour presentation on its upcoming projects, including:
1. Beyond the Spider-Verse

Producer Phil Lord, along with directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, took the stage to share more details on the final instalment of the epic Spider-Verse saga. Lord hinted that Sony would be “breaking the boundaries with animation again”, while showing off new stills from the film featuring Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, The Spot and Prowler.
Beyond the Spider-Verse will release in Malaysian theatres from June 3, 2027.
2. GOAT

Visitors got more details on GOAT, an original animated film from director Tyree Dillihay and producer-slash-four-time-NBA-champion Stephen Curry. The film will follow “a little goat who is determined to team up with his idol to make it into the big league of animal sports, where conventional wisdom says small can’t ball.”
GOAT is set to hit theatres worldwide on February 13, 2026.
3. Karate Kid: Legends

CinemaCon attendees were treated to an exclusive new trailer for Karate Kid: Legends, set to be released to the public on April 2. The trailer showed the new Karate Kid, Lee (played by Ben Wang) in action, as well as his mother (Ming-Na Wen). The film will also feature returning actors Ralph Macchio, reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso, the protagonist of the original 1984 Karate Kid; and Jackie Chan, once again playing Mr. Han from the 2010 Karate Kid.
Karate Kid: Legends will air in Malaysian theatres from 5 June 2025.
4. Spider-Man 4

Marvel and Sony will once again team up for the next Spider-Man film, Brand New Day, with Tom Holland once again playing the friendly neighbourhood web-slinger. Director Daniel Destin Cretton shared that the film would be “a ride that we haven’t seen before”, while Holland hinted that it would be “a fresh start”.
Brand New Day gets its name from the comics’ 2008 storyline of the same name, which sees Spider-Man’s story being ‘reset’, with changes to his supporting cast and rogues’ gallery, as well as undoing the reveal of his secret identity. Fans will have to wait to see how this gets adapted to the big screen when the film hits theatres from July 31, 2026.
5. The Beatles

Director Sam Mendes closed out the presentation with possibly the most ambitious biopic project to date – a series of four movies, each following a different Beatles member, which will all air in theatres at the same time in April 2028, in what’s being called “the first bingeable theatrical experience”.
The film project will star Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
Other announcements made during the Sony presentation included release dates for the I Know What You Did Last Summer remake, coming July 18, 2025; the live-action Legend of Zelda movie, coming March 26, 2027; Jumanji 4, coming December 11, 2026; and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, coming October 2025.
Lionsgate and Warner Bros. will be appearing at CinemaCon tomorrow, so keep watching this space for more movie updates!
