Here’s Every Game Announced For The Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo officially announced the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 during a Direct livestream on April 2 – and, of course, it came with a ton of game announcements, many of which will launch together with the Switch 2. A few titles will also receive paid Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs, which will add enhanced graphics and exclusive content offerings.

Warning: make yourselves comfortable, ’cause this article’s going to be a long one.

1. Mario Kart World

 Mario Kart World is a brand-new Mario Kart racing game that can feature up to twenty-four drivers in a single game. You can challenge yourself to the new Knockout Tour mode, where you’ll barrel through back-to-back courses and checkpoints, with no pit stops along the way; or try out Free Roam, where you can go off the racetrack and even take some photos at scenic spots. More details will be revealed in a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17.

2. Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong Bananza is a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure which will be exclusive to the Switch 2. Crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in DK’s path, as the more you destroy, the more areas you’ll be able to explore. Donkey Kong Bananza lands on the Switch 2 this July 17.

3. Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV

Super Mario Party Jamboree will now come in a new Switch 2 Edition, which adds new modes and minigames that utilise the new Switch’s Joycon mouse controls, built-in mic, and camera. See what’s new in this party when it launches on July 24.

4. The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Editions

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild  and  The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will both be getting Switch 2 Editions, featuring performance upgrades like smoother frame rates, faster load times, and improved graphics.

The newly-released Nintendo Switch App will also get a feature called “Zelda Notes”, which will help players of the Switch 2 version navigate to hard-to-find locations, and even features commentary from Princess Zelda herself.

5. Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World adds a new story to Kirby and the Forgotten Land when it launches on August 28. When a mysterious meteor crashes in his world, Kirby must use his abilities, including new Mouthful Modes, to clear a trail through uncharted territory.

6. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Samus Aran returns in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, releasing on both the Switch and Switch 2. The Switch 2 version will allow for more enhanced visuals and performance, as well as added precision as players can opt for both standard and Joycon 2 mouse controls for Samus’s arm cannon.

7. Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

The latest Pokémon game comes to the Nintendo Switch 2 with enhanced resolution and frame rates, releasing late 2025.

8. Kirby Air Riders

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai will helm this reboot of the classic Nintendo GameCube title. Not much was shown during the Direct, but we did get to see Kirby on his Warp Star machine, as he joined other machines on a racetrack. Kirby Air Riders is set to release in 2025.

9. Drag x Drive

Drag x Drive is a new online 3v3 game launching this summer, where players will need to use both of the new Joycon’s mouse controls at the same time to steer, speed up, perform tricks and make plays such as dunks.

10. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour

It’s not exactly the most exciting title on this list, but it’s there for anyone that wants to really make the most out of their new device. Players enter a virtual exhibition, where they’ll play through tech demos, minigames and other interactions that help them to learn more about the Switch 2.

11. The Duskbloods

FromSoftware dropped a bombshell on players with the reveal of a new multiplayer title from the company, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. The Duskbloods will be available to play next year.

12. Hades II

The highly anticipated sequel to Hades will launch first on the Switch and Switch 2, sending you back to the Underworld to vanquish the Titan of Time.

13. EA SPORTS Madden NFL + EA SPORTS FC, NBA 2K + WWE 2K

Sports game fans won’t be left out of the fun, as some of the biggest sports game franchises in the world will also be coming to the Switch 2.

14. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment 

Koei-Tecmo Games brings their musou game expertise to the Zelda franchise as players take on the role of Princess Zelda, waging war against hordes of enemies. This game tells an untold story from Hyrule’s distant past, which ultimately led to the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

15. Split Fiction

Aspiring writers Mio and Zoe have become trapped in a simulation of their own stories, and it’s up to you, the players, to work together to overcome challenges. The game will also be compatible with the Switch 2’s Friend’s Pass system. (P.S. Check out our review of the PC version here.)

16. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

Cyberpunk 2077 comes to Nintendo platforms for the first time, in a new Ultimate Edition featuring the base game and the critically acclaimed Phantom Liberty spy-thriller expansion.

17. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

The highly acclaimed remake of the classic JRPG comes to the Switch 2, now including FF7R Episode INTERmission, an additional story arc happening during the events of the game.

18. Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 will feature new game modes exclusive to the Switch 2, like Local Wireless One on One and Avatar Matches, as well as party modes utilizing Joy-Con 2 controllers like Gyro Battle and Calorie Contest. Plus, players can check out three new amiibo figures and 22 amiibo cards at launch. These features will be available in both Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighter Edition, or the digital version of Street Fighter 6.

19. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII gets a Switch 2 Edition that uses the new mouse controls to offer a more intuitive experience.

20. Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy has been updated with Joy-Con 2 mouse support, improved graphics and audio, and seamless map load times for the Switch 2.

21. Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster

An HD remaster of the classic Nintendo 3DS RPG, this new version of the game also includes quality-of-life updates and two new minigames that utilise the dual mouse controls of the Switch 2.

22. Borderlands 4

Experience outrageous enemies and killer loot on the dangerous new planet of Kairos in Borderlands 4, coming to the Switch 2 in 2025.

23. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

Two legendary Activision games return with new skaters and tricks, an updated soundtrack, and, for the first time in over a decade, new parks, including a teased crossover with Spongebob Squarepants. The game will also be compatible with cross-platform online multiplayer when it aunches on the Switch 2 this summer.

24. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition

The award-winning action RPG comes to the Switch 2 in 2025, with a new edition featuring the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new weapons, armor, and new Torrent appearance customization.

25. Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut

The definitive edition of the acclaimed origin story arrives first on the Switch 2, featuring never-before-seen cutscenes and a new Red Light Raid online multiplayer mode.

26. Fortnite

It’s Fortnite, complete with all the features you know and love – Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, Fortnite OG, and more – soon to be available on the Switch 2.

27. Enter the Gungeon 2

Enter the Gungeon 2 joins the Switch 2 next year with a new 3D art style, weapons, and new gameplay tricks.

28. Hitman World of Assassination – Signature Edition

A compilation featuring Hitman, Hitman 2, and Hitman 3, including the main campaign, contracts mode, escalations, and more.

29. Project 007

A wholly original James Bond story was teased towards the end of the Direct, coming soon to the Switch 2.
