Star Wars Celebration 2025, the world’s biggest Star Wars fan convention, took place over the weekend at Japan’s Makuhari Messe convention centre. In case you missed it, we’ve rounded up all the film- and TV-related announcements made during the event!

1. The Mandalorian And Grogu Release Date

The Mandalorian And Grogu, an upcoming movie based on the Disney+ TV series The Mandalorian, will be hitting the big screen on May 22, 2026. Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin, while Sigourney Weaver plays a New Republic pilot who hires him.  Zeb from Star Wars: Rebels, last seen in the Ahsoka TV series, will also appear in this movie.

2. Star Wars: Starfighter

Ryan Gosling is set to star in Star Wars: Starfighter, a new standalone film directed by Shawn Levy of Deadpool & Wolverine fame. Little is known about the plot thus far, but we do know that the movie will start filming this fall, ahead of its May 28, 2027 release.

3. Maul: Shadow Lord

Maul: Shadow Lord is a brand-new animated series starring fan-favourite character Maul, following the former Sith master as he trains a new apprentice and builds his new criminal empire. Sam Witwer, who voiced Maul for Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, will once again lend his voice to the character.

4. Ahsoka Season 2

Season 2 of the Ahsoka TV series will kick-start production right after Star Wars Celebration Japan ends. This season promises to be even more exciting than the first, featuring returning characters such as Thrawn, Admiral Ackbar, Zeb, and Anakin Skywalker, played by Hayden Christensen himself.

5. Andor Season 2

Visitors to Star Wars Celebration were treated to an exclusive screening of the first episode of Andor’s second season, which will premiere this April 22. The series’ leading man Diego Luna also shared a few words on the upcoming season, saying: “It’s emotionally charged. It’s going to be intense. And when you finish watching this second and last season, go straight to Rogue One, because you’re going to see a different film.”

6. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past

Rebuild the Galaxy, a Lego-inspired spinoff of the Star Wars series, will be getting a new season titled Pieces of the Past. The four-part sequel releases on September 19, with Ashley Eckstein reprising her voice role as Ahsoka.

7. Young Jedi Adventures Season 3

The Disney Jr. series Young Jedi Adventures will be returning for a third season this fall, featuring new characters Dotti and Rek Minuu; as well as Beepers, Dozer and Gigi, a quirky band of droids who will join our main characters on their missions.

8. Star Wars: Visions Volume 3

The Star Wars: Visions panel showcased all the titles, and even showed a few teasers, of all nine animated shorts that will make up Volume 3.
