The Malaysia Animation Film Festival (MAFF), powered by GSC International Screens in collaboration with MDEC, will be back for its third instalment later this year – and it’s looking for submissions!
MAFF celebrates the local animation scene by showcasing award-winning local short animations, bringing together industry professionals, emerging talents, and animation enthusiasts to experience Malaysia’s vibrant creative landscape. The 2024 edition saw 14 homegrown animated shorts, as well as Jared Lee’s highly acclaimed anthology film Grimoire, being screened at selected cinemas nationwide.
Malaysian animation studios, film companies, animators and final year students are now invited to submit their animated short films, game cinematics, and virtual productions for a chance to have their work screened at GSC International Screens across Malaysia. The final date for submissions is this April 23rd.
