PikPok’s upcoming shelter survival game, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, will be launching on PC via Steam Early Access on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The news was first revealed during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.
Set in the sweltering summer of 1980 in the city of Walton, Texas, the game plunges players into a world overrun by the undead. As the zombie outbreak spreads, the familiar order of law and society crumbles, forcing human survivors to band together in a desperate fight for survival. Players will take on the role of a leader, guiding a group of survivors.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days blends side-scrolling exploration with base-management gameplay. Survivors will venture out from their upgradable shelter to scavenge for weapons, food, and other essential supplies necessary to survive the zombie-infested world. Players can either stealthily navigate abandoned buildings, or choose to stand their ground and engage in combat.
Players will also have the option to recruit potential allies to their group or leave them to fend for themselves, though they will also have to manage the physical and psychological well-being of the survivors will be key as resources dwindle daily. Players will also need to build and upgrade shelters, but they must be prepared to abandon them as the relentless zombie hordes advance, potentially making areas of Walton completely uninhabitable over time.
Throughout their journey, players will need to uncover clues scattered across Walton that can help them lead the group to safety. The choices players make and the decisions they implement will ultimately determine who survives and who succumbs to the undead.

“Since we first revealed ‘Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days’ in 2022, we have been thrilled by the enthusiastic response from our fans,” stated Mario Wynands, CEO of PikPok. “We are honored to partner with the Future Games Show Spring Showcase to announce that players can begin their journey in Walton on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.”
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days will be available on PC via Steam Early Access for $24.99. A Mac version is also planned to be released during the Early Access period.
